Rod Mooring Buoys
Rod Mooring Buoys
Popular choice for open moorings for all types of watercraft. Probably the most robust construction avaliable. The case has thick walls reinforced through tube connection. The rod and top eye is solid steel with a forged swivel all heavilly galvanised and guided through the buoy with hard wearing plastic bushes at top and bottom. Safely mooring boats for 40 years.
Features and Tips:
- Robust construction throughout
- One piece strong forged lower swivel ring
- Use the lower swivel only for mooring the boat
- Chain load should never be more than 60% of buoyancy
- use Special PVC lacquer of waterproof marker pen to write on your buoy
A Guide to what size of mooring buoy is required:
Weight of Chain (kg/m) x 1.5 max. height of water (m) = Buoyancy Required (kgs)
However, we always recommend that for long use of the mooring to boat should be attached to the "root" chain and not the rod eye. Also you should seek local advice prior to laying moorings. Please read recommended mooring instructions supplied with each buoy.
